The historic town of Brecon is a 15-minute drive and offers many visitor attractions including Llangorse lake, the Dan-yr-Ogof caves and the Big Pit. Also to enjoy are the regular farmers markets and the endless options for outdoor pursuits such as mountain climbing, hill walking, canoeing, cycling, pony trekking, bird watching, water sports to gentle walks. Not forgetting the golf courses of Cradoc and Brecon. Local places of interest and culture include Brecon Cathedral, the South Wales Borderers museum and Brecon Theatre, situated on the banks of the canal and offering a wide variety of shows. Hay-on-Wye is a small, picturesque town in the heart of the black mountains. It is full of bookshops and cafe’s and is famous for its annual literary festival. |
